Recap: 2024 Season 3 by the numbers
Week 13 is winding down, and that’s a wrap on 2024 Season 3. It’s been a lot of fun to watch the painting community thrive and continue to create some of the coolest custom paints we’ve seen in iRacing, from experienced artists to newcomers alike.
We’ve gathered some data from the Trading Paints community over the past iRacing season and now it’s time to share. (You do like stats, don’t you?)
A total of 792,178 custom paints were assigned in Season 3 alone. That’s a lot of paints, making up just over 3 trillion pixels by our count! We’re thrilled the Trading Paints community makes iRacing look beautiful. Way to go!
Fair warning: the top colors each season are almost always black, white, and the dusty gray-beige color from the default mask on iRacing’s templates, so we’ve excluded those. But, beyond that, it seems the community is vibing with bright red, neon yellow-green, and pink this season.
Josh M.’s JDR Mustang IMSA took top honors this season, being raced by 784 drivers in total.
Also in a Ford Mustang GT3, David J. G.’s Proton Competition replica was quite popular — 737 drivers chose to assign it as their custom paint in iRacing.
Ugo Degani’s 2024 TF Sport replica (recreated from Sean Bull’s original design) was raced by 662 drivers.
Michael DeTurck’s quite skilled in his sportscar replicas, and that’s probably why his Ford Mustang GT3 Champion Spirit Livery re-creation was favorited more than any other paint in the Showroom in Season 3.
In total, the community handed out 194,969 total favorites on Showroom paints in Season 3. Way to show the love! ❤️
In terms of popular Showroom uploaders, three painters reached the 3,000-favorites mark in Season 3. John Rubino was recognized the most with 3,363 favorites, ahead of longtime painter Don Craig. Veteran painter Paul R Chaloner was third.
It was a sportscar-heavy season! The new Ford Mustang GT3 had the most custom paints assigned, ahead of the Ferrari 296 GT3 and the good old Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.
Thanks for painting with us in Season 3. We can’t wait to see what Season 4 has in store!
