This Week on Trading Paints: April 11, 2025
News and updates from the world of Trading Paints from the past week.

Welcome to This Week on Trading Paints, the pulse on what’s happening in the Trading Paints world while Tayne Hodesson is probably still in the process of saving his truck.
✨ What’s New
A Milestone!
On Monday, we reached 400,000 total registered iRacers on Trading Paints! We’re incredibly grateful for the support of the sim racing world in our 15 years online, and we’re honored to have the privilege of serving up your paints. We’ve got no plans to slow down!
League Fixes
We made some improvements to how we show which leagues are available in your My Paints section with the aim of making the league-specific paint feature more reliable. Leagues will still need to have a publicly-viewable drivers list and have at least one future race scheduled in order to appear.
👀 Coming Soon
Paint Builder Clipping & Masking
We’re working on a much-requested clipping-mask feature for Paint Builder. Today, if you insert a logo or graphic that overlaps another panel of the car, you sometimes have to get a bit creative to avoid the “overspray” — with clipping, you’ll be able to draw an imaginary shape to hide parts of the layer.
Clipping will be non-destructive — meaning you’re not deleting part of the shape permanently, but rather highlighting the part you want to hide.

Clipping will be part of the next Paint Builder release in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
🌟 Fresh Official Paints
Some new Verified Official paints landed in the Trading Paints Showroom this week if you want to look like the pros.

🏎️ Staff Picks
We’re dazzled daily by wonderful paints in the Showroom! Here are a few that caught the eye of Team TP this week.

OK, this last one’s a blast from the past — Bradley posted it in 2021 — but it’s still cool enough to share nearly four years later.
🏆 Paint of the Week
Pierre S. showed off some exceptional creativity on the Ford Mustang GT3 for this week’s Paint of the Week, selected by Patrick, our Community Manager.

On Instagram, Pierre shared what the process looks like for designing such an intricate car — and, yes, it’s all hand-drawn!
Well done, Pierre!
