This Week on Trading Paints: April 3, 2026

Welcome to This Week on Trading Paints, the pulse on what’s happening in the Trading Paints world where you’ll turn to sim racing to get your fix of motorsports this weekend.

🍞 Trading Paints rode with Brad Perez Saturday

Last weekend, we joined everybody’s favorite racer slash mechanic slash DJ, Brad Perez, at Martinsville Speedway in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. The Trading Paints logo appeared on the lower quarter panels of Brad’s No. 42 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet, sponsored by Bubba Wallace’s Live To Be Different Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County.

Brad kept the car in one piece, aside from the customary Martinsville battle scars, of course. (Image from Brad Perez)

Brad drove through the field in the final stage and even avoided a nearly-20-car crash at one point to finish 21st.

To celebrate, we gave away some credits to the Trading Paints Store to three drivers at random who raced Brad’s paint, designed by Harris Lue of LUE Creative in iRacing. Congratulations to Matthew M., Max S., and Gavin M.

You can pre-order the 1:24 and 1:64 die-cast car, too.

🧑‍🎨 Noah Sweet in the Spotlight

April’s Artist Spotlight focuses on Noah Sweet, who’s accomplished quite a bit in the world of motorsports design after getting his start in sim racing. You’ve probably seen some of his animation work or paint-scheme design if you’ve followed NASCAR in the past five years.

Shark, shark! This week’s Paint of the Week, selected by our Community Manager Patrick, is this NASCAR Cup Series Chevrolet that’s also a salmon shark, painted by Matt Tomelleri. We are just now learning about salmon sharks.
