✨ New Spec Map Starter: Freshly Waxed

We’ve shared a new spec map starter for inspiration on your painting adventures: Freshly Waxed is a shiny, yet metallic finish you can achieve — but you might want to lighten the underlying paint color first.

🧑‍🎨 The next Artist Spotlight is coming soon

We’ll have a new Artist Spotlight coming to the Trading Paints Blog Monday. If you’ve followed NASCAR in the past decade, you’ve seen some of this designer’s work!

👀 Artists wanted!

We’re looking for artists, creators and designers to highlight in future editions of our monthly Artist Spotlight features. Do you know somebody in the racing world — virtual or not — deserving of some recognition? Let us know Instagram and Bluesky.

🏎️ Staff Picks

With so much creativity in the Showroom it’s hard to narrow down our favorites, but these are a few paints we’ve had our eye on this week.

1981 Gr.5 Schnitzer BMW M1 Turbo by David Roberts - Trading Paints
One of my all time favourite cars. The 1981 Gr.5 Schnitzer BMW M1 Turbo was built to beat the mighty Porsche 935s, and offered 1000 horsepower in qualifying trim. For BMWs initial plan for the M1 it was too late and too unreliable, but showed strong potential driven by Hans Stuck. I also have the period correct Stuck Helmet available for download on here. Enjoy…

“This is great but I can't look at it and not get anxiety about the process.” –Julian, Creative

1981 #28 Bobby Allison Tuf-Lon Pontiac - Winston Cup by William Goshen - Trading Paints
Bobby Allison joined the Harry Ranier team for the 1981 season driving the iconic Gray Ghost. The team started the season on a high note, winning the opener at Riverside and finishing 2nd in the Daytona 500 after leading a race high 117 laps. Hardee’s would then join the team as the main sponsor half way through the season. In total, the pairing won 5 races and finished runner up in the Championship during their lone season together.

🏆 Paint of the Week
