This Week on Trading Paints: January 9, 2026
News and updates from the world of Trading Paints from the past week.
Welcome to This Week on Trading Paints, the pulse on what’s happening in the Trading Paints world while you’re getting ready to turn some laps in the iRacing ROAR.
🧑🎨 ICYMI: Davin Cornelius in the Spotlight

In our first Artist Spotlight of 2026, popular sim painter Davin Cornelius (a.k.a. DriveThrough Design) shared his journey from Need for Speed Carbon on PS2 to NASCAR Racing 2003 Season to iRacing to even creating on-track designs.
🎁 A Minor Paint Builder Update
We released a small update to Paint Builder this week.
Improved
- Fonts now show the text you’re inserting in the font selection dropdown menu, rather than a generic preview of the font name. This will provide a clearer and more accurate representation of how your text will look in each font instead of clicking through them one by one.

Fixed
- Fixed an issue where Sim Preview wasn’t working on the Opera GX browser because it was expecting a Local Network Access prompt similar to other browsers. (Thanks to Kasey E. for reporting this issue.)
🏎️ Staff Picks
The Trading Paints team has been enjoying plenty of new paints in the Showroom. Here’s a handful.

🔢 From the Number Showroom

🏆 Paint of the Week
For the second Paint of the Week in 2026, Community Manager Patrick chose this colorful 1987 Ford Thunderbird from Jory Fleischauer that reimagined what Ryan Blaney’s No. 12 NASCAR Cup Series car might look like if we woke up and it was 1987. (Something, something, Stranger Things.)
