This Week on Trading Paints: May 16, 2025
News and updates from the world of Trading Paints from the past week.

Welcome to This Week on Trading Paints, the pulse on what’s happening in the Trading Paints world while you’re picking up the pieces of your safety rating post-iRacing Indy 500.
We released a Paint Builder update last week, adding a new feature for clipping masks, as well as some performance improvements and bug fixes. This update was followed by another patch to fix spec maps on shape layers, which we broke with the last release. (Sorry about that and thanks for your patience!)
We’ve still got some of our new unstructured outdoor-friendly hats available in the Trading Paints Store, though quantities are limited.

In case you missed it, be sure to check out this month’s Artist Spotlight, featuring Roberto Ramirez (a.k.a. Bolts), Graphic Designer at Spire Motorsports and 2020 Paint of the Year winner.
Our Beta program for Trading Paints Downloader is back for testing some new features before they’re released to the public. If you want to help us test out new stuff (like faster downloads!) and track down bugs, take a look at the Downloader Beta.
🎨 Hunt the Front Pick of the Month
Our friends at Hunt the Front have selected their very first HTF Pick of the Month — a dirt car paint from the Trading Paints Showroom selected by the HTF team.
This month, it’s Luke Breitschopf (a.k.a. Breadstick)’s Dirt Late Model getting the nod (and some of that sweet, sweet HTF and Trading Paints merch).

🌟 Fresh Official Paints
Some new Verified Official Paints landed in the Showroom over the past week.

🏎️ Staff Picks
Team Trading Paints highlighted some new favorites in the Showroom.

“I quite like this Next Gen. Looks like something RCR would have ran when Hemric or Reddick were there” –Julian, graphic design

“He don’t miss” –Aaron, customer service (on Doyle Lowrance’s Texaco paints)

“Hypercar on LMP3” –Dustin, development
🏆 Paint of the Week
Community Manager Patrick selected this 1987 Pontiac Grand Prix — Mark Brower’s take on Rob Moroso’s 1991 car — as Paint of the Week.
