Here’s what’s new on Trading Paints in this iRacing season.

Trading Paints Update Notes: September 9, 2025

As you get ready to rip some laps around iRacing’s new Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez and enjoy the new in-sim UI, we’ve released some updates throughout Trading Paints to coincide with the iRacing 2025 Season 4 build.

New vehicles

iRacing’s new Season 4 cars are now supported on Trading Paints:

  • Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO
  • Dallara IL-15
  • Ford Mustang GT4

Updated templates

iRacing has released template updates to the following vehicles:

  • Aston Martin Vantage GT4
  • Audi RS 3 LMS TCR
  • BMW M4 G82 GT4 Evo
  • BMW M4 GT3 EVO
  • BMW M4 G82 GT4 Evo
  • Honda Civic Type R TCR
  • Hyundai Elantra N TCR
  • Hyundai Veloster N TCR
  • McLaren 570S GT4
  • Mercedes-AMG GT4
  • Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR
  • NASCAR Truck Chevrolet Silverado
  • NASCAR Truck Ford F150
  • NASCAR Truck Toyota Tundra TRD Pro

These are all relatively minor, non-breaking template changes, and all existing paints from Trading Paints will remain in place. You can grab the latest versions from the iRacing Car Templates page.

Tip: Double-check your BMW M4 GT3 EVO paints for potential small detail changes like mirror covers.

Name changes

  • BMW M4 GT3 is now BMW M4 GT3 EVO to coincide with the new EVO spec of the car.

Gen 4 AI-Ready Collections support

The Gen 4 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - 2003 and Gen 4 Ford Taurus - 2003 vehicles are now supported for AI-Ready Collections.

If you convert your Collections with Gen 4 cars to AI-Ready Collections, you’ll be prompted to enter a superspeedway alternate paint for each driver; this is the paint that will load for the driver at superspeedway tracks like Daytona and Talladega. If you race custom AI seasons in iRacing, the superspeedway version of a car, if assigned, will automatically load and be attached to the same driver as the default speedway equivalent.

Downloader update: version 2.1.3 2.1.4

A new version of Trading Paints Downloader (2.1.4) has been released. If you already have Downloader installed, the update will run the next time you open the program.

  • Added compatibility for Gen 4 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - 2003 and Gen 4 Ford Taurus - 2003 AI-Ready Collections. If a Collection owner has defined a Superspeedway (SS) variant paint of a Gen 4 car an AI-Ready Collection, the same driver will be used for iRacing roster seasons.
  • Fixed an issue where AI opponent paints were not appearing in iRacing Hosted sessions where the host was using an AI-Ready Collection.
  • Fixed an issue where Paint Builder Sim Preview did not show helmets and suits in the iRacing UI.

Update 4:30 p.m. ET: We’ve released version 2.1.4 to replace the briefly-released 2.1.3 that had a stray process using some CPU when idle.

Site updates

  • Fixed a bug where line breaks weren’t being shown in Showroom descriptions. (Thanks to Joshua T. for reporting this!)
  • Fixed a bug where the Most Raced sorting option wasn’t working correctly in the Showroom.

We’ll have a Number Builder update coming soon, too. Stay tuned. 👀

Reminder: clean up your paint folders and check your settings!

With the release of a new build and new cars, it’s a good time to take a moment and clear out any temporary files that might have accumulated throughout your racing journeys.

To do this, in Windows, navigate to your Documents\iRacing folder and delete the contents of the paint directory. If you’ve got any spare temporary files left behind, they’ll be cleaned up.

Trading Paints Downloader makes an attempt to keep this folder neat and tidy for you, but sometimes files might remain in memory and aren’t deleted right away when you close Trading Paints or iRacing.

It’s also a good time to check your Custom Number settings in your iRacing graphics options; sometimes, a new build resets options unknowingly. To enable Custom Number paints, while the iRacing sim is running, check Hide car numbers in your iRacing settings under Graphics and restart the sim.

Happy painting, and have a speedy Season 4!
