As you may have noticed, Paint Builder has been offline for much of the day today for maintenance.
We’re currently performing some under-the-hood updates to the infrastructure to make Paint Builder even faster and more reliable. This process has taken a lot longer than we’d initially anticipated — sorry about that!
Additionally, we’re rolling out some exciting new features in Paint Builder that are worth the wait.
For starters, we’re adding layer grouping, where you’ll be able to combine multiple layers into a single set that you can move and manipulate to, say, different panels of your car’s paint without needing to pick and choose each individual layer. We’ve also made improvements to speed, removing lag when creating or drawing new shapes, with additional focus on reducing memory usage.
We’ll publish full release notes when Paint Builder’s back up and out of the garage. In the meantime, you can always page through the Showroom, follow us on Instagram, or paint old-school style with iRacing’s downloadable painting templates.
We apologize for the extended and longer-than-expected downtime and thank you, sincerely, for your patience. Nobody likes an outage and we’re no exception to that!
