Welcome to This Week on Trading Paints, the pulse on what’s happening in the Trading Paints world.

✏️ New: Eraser tool in Paint Builder!

We added a much-requested Eraser tool to Paint Builder in an update launched Monday. It’s an extension of the Clipping Mask feature, where you can select a part of a layer to hide — except now there’s a freehand erasing option.

Select a layer, and under Clipping in the Properties panel, choose Eraser to begin drawing what you want to erase on that layer. You can undo what you’ve erased by clicking Release Clipping Mask, just as you would for a traditional clipping mask.

We also fixed an issue where transparent portions of paints weren’t working properly when racing a project from Paint Builder.

Paint Builder is available as part of Trading Paints Pro.

🧑‍🎨 ICYMI: Brendan Lyons in the Spotlight

Spire Motorsports graphic designer Brendan Lyons is a relative newcomer to the scene, but he’s already made quite a name for himself, designing graphics and paints within the NASCAR world. He’s the subject of this month’s Artist Spotlight.

🏁 Hunt the Front World 100 Proving Grounds Challenge update

The Hunt the Front team is selecting the winner for the Proving Grounds Challenge that ended June 27 after carefully reviewing all the incredible entries — it’s not an easy decision! Stay tuned to the blog and Instagram for when the winner is announced in the coming days.
