This Week on Trading Paints: October 30, 2026
News and updates from the world of Trading Paints from the past week while you’re painting a car so good it’s scary.
Welcome to This Week on Trading Paints, the pulse on what’s happening in the colorful world of Trading Paints and the iRacing painting community.
🧑🎨 ICYMI: Fisher Giannotti in the Spotlight

Fisher Giannotti is this the focus of this month’s Artist Spotlight. The Georgia native shared his journey from designing paint scheme concepts on his phone in 2020 to creating some of the most eye-catching graphics for Bill McAnally Racing — including a Kyle Busch tribute paint scheme that raced in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series recently.
November’s Artist Spotlight is coming Sunday! Stay tuned to the blog.
🎨 A Paint Builder product update
On Wednesday we released another small update for Paint Builder, part of Trading Paints Pro.
New
- A different Finish value can now be assigned on a layer’s stroke (outline).
Improved
- When the color is changed of the Mask painting guide, now only the mask changes color, rather than the mask and all mandatory-stamped items.
- A feedback message is now displayed when attempting to upload more than three images at a time to My Uploads.
- Members with read-only permissions on a shared project can no longer clone it as a new project.
- Improved layout of projects in the My Projects list.
Fixed
- Fixed an issue where “based on” text was missing on the Favorite Projects screen when displaying a cloned project.
- Fixed an issue where the names of deleted projects would still appear in Favorite Projects.
- Fixed an issue where an empty My Uploads category name was allowed.
- Fixed an issue where an error message would appear when viewing a paint shared with you with read-only permissions.
- Fixed an issue where the Insert Logo/Flag function was not working on some mobile devices.
🏎️ A new Downloader Beta is available
We released a new beta version of Trading Paints Downloader on Monday with a look at some upcoming features and fixes that we hope to roll out as a formal release soon.
This update improved functionality of the “Clean up downloaded files when I exit iRacing” option. Downloader should now remove all files in the Documents\paint folder on program launch, and after downloading new paints in a session, with the exception of your own paint files if you have “Keep my paints synced from iRacing” enabled.
Thanks for sharing your feedback so we can continue to improve Trading Paints Downloader for the community!

🛻 Carson Hocevar’s Pro4 truck fun at Daytona
We joined NASCAR racer Carson Hocevar for his $10,000-to-win Heatwave Design Firecracker 40.0 event Tuesday night, giving away a (much smaller) prize for a random finisher via the Trading Paints Bonus Wheel — a bonus that went to 48th-place finisher and short-track racer Landon S. Huffman.
I stopped by driving my vantablack Please Upgrade to Trading Paints Pro truck, and it was going well for me until about five to go. The Pro4 trucks at bumpy Daytona is an absurd experience, especially when you’re in a crowd of 64 of them with $10,000 on the line.
