Trading Paints participates in the 4th annual iRacing MS Charity Race
Members of the Trading Paints team had a blast participating in iRacing’s 4th Annual MS Charity Race Wednesday night, which raised over $40,000 for the National MS Society.
Pro drivers and motorsport figures, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Chad Knaus, and Tony Kanaan, competed in the GT3 class — you know, purpose-built sports cars — while the Trading Paints crew was among those whipping around a slow and heavy street stock around Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
Four Trading Paints team members shared the seat in the two-hour event. Developer Dustin Dawes started off the two-hour race’s first 30-minute stint, setting a speedy pace early. Community Manager (and new dad!) Patrick Lindsey raced next, keeping the ironically-plain-white car clean. Aaron Bean from the support team took over for the third stint, while founder Steve Luvender brought it home — barely, with a wheel falling off the desk — in the final half hour.
A four-driver team for a two-hour race was, of course, overkill, forcing Team TP to stop for driver swaps twice as often as other teams. But, speed wasn’t the primary focus; it was about having a fun time and raising money for the National MS Society. (And, of course, not embarrassing ourselves sharing the track with motorsport and gaming legends. Mission accomplished.)
The team ended up 19th in class out of 30 street stocks.
