Car painting updates for iRacing 2026 Season 4 build
iRacing has released some new content and tweaked some cars. Here’s what you need to know for painting in 2026 Season 4.
iRacing’s latest and greatest build is here for 2026 Season 4, featuring new cars, major track refreshes, in-sim UI updates, and tons more.
Here’s an overview of what’s new and what’s changed for painters as we head into the new season.
New vehicles
Trading Paints supports custom paints for iRacing’s newest vehicles arriving in 2026 Season 4:
- Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH
- Caterham Academy
- Caterham 420R
- Gen 4 Grand National
- Note: this is a member of the ARCA Menards Chevrolet Impala and Gen 4 Cup family. The new Gen 4 Grand National shares the same painting template and body style as the existing cars.
You can upload paints for these vehicles in My Paints and Showroom, and paint them in Paint Builder (or download the old-school PSD templates).
Renamed
The [Legacy] ARCA Menards Chevrolet Impala was renamed to ARCA Menards Chevrolet Impala.
The [Legacy] ARCA Menards Chevrolet Impala vehicle group in the Showroom was renamed to ARCA Menards - Gen 4 GN - Gen 4 Cup.
Updated painting templates
Two of iRacing’s painting templates for existing vehicles were updated in this season’s build.
🟢 Dallara IR18
The Dallara IR18 template has changed slightly, adding a new paintable region. This is a non-breaking change, so all existing paints on Trading Paints will remain in place.

🟡 Global Mazda MX-5 Cup
Following iRacing’s ground-up rebuild of the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup, some updates were made to the painting template. These changes were largely not disruptive, so you’ll be able to use your existing custom paints without major issues — though you may want to double-check mirrors, smaller panels, and potentially number placement.

AI-Ready Collections
The following vehicles now have support for AI-Ready Collections to create opponent rosters:

- Gen 4 Grand National
- [Legacy] BMW Z4 GT3

Note: If you manually enabled UTF-8 encoding for iRacing telemetry data (via .ini file), Trading Paints Downloader won’t work. We’ll release an update to address this in the future.
