Welcome to This Week on Trading Paints, the pulse on what’s happening in the Trading Paints world.

✨ New Spec Map Starter: The Mattedor

This week, we shared a new spec map starter, ‘The Mattedor’. Check out the blog or our post on Instagram for how you can achieve this fast-looking matte-style finish on your iRacing paints.

🧑‍🎨 ICYMI: Camille Yetter in the Spotlight

Director of Graphic Design for Front Row Motorsports, Camille Yetter, didn’t set out for a career in motorsports, but a serendipitous suggestion from a professor took her from the world of horses to horsepower. She’s the focus of August’s Artist Spotlight.

There’s a new Artist Spotlight coming next week! Stay tuned to the blog.

NASCAR “What-If:” Kevin Lepage & Hank Aaron Motorsports by Lane Sanders - Trading Paints
This what-if scheme is from a rumor that surfaced in the middle of the 2000 season. Jack Roush had a miserable time with sponsorship going into the 2001 season, with his 16 team being no exception. Roush had told his driver Kevin Lepage if he couldn’t find a sponsor, the #16 team would shut down at season’s end. A rumor that came about was that Atlanta Braves legend Hank Aaron would either partner with Roush or outright buy the #16 team with Lepage and Denny’s of all sponsors for the 2001 season. This did not come to pass, and the 16 team shut down after the 2000 season. Had this happened, even if they aligned with Roush Racing like I believe they would, they likely would have struggled, especially looking at Lepage’s stats. However, his absence from the free agent market would absolutely change the 2001 silly season, as Lepage would not drive either the #4 or #7 like he did in real life.
