This Week on Trading Paints: May 9, 2025
News and updates from the world of Trading Paints from the past week.

Welcome to This Week on Trading Paints, the pulse on what’s happening in the Trading Paints world.
🎁 What’s New
We released a Paint Builder update Thursday, adding a new feature for clipping masks, as well as some performance improvements and bug fixes.
Clipping masks add the ability to draw a shape (mask) to hide parts of a layer in a non-destructive way in case you need to make changes later. This is most useful if you add a graphic or logo that spills onto another panel on the template.
In outside-of-the-screen news, we’ve got a new hat listed in the Trading Paints Store in limited quantities. It’s an unstructured snapback cap made of 100% recycled nylon, making it great for outdoor use. (Outdoors? For sim racers?!)

👀 In case you missed it…
Last week, we published our latest Artist Spotlight, featuring Roberto Ramirez (a.k.a. Bolts), Graphic Designer at Spire Motorsports. Roberto is also the 2020 Paint of the Year winner.
Read about his journey from NASCAR console games to designing the sharpest cars on track.
Our Beta program for Trading Paints Downloader is back for testing some new features before they’re released to the public. If you want to help us test out new stuff (like faster downloads!) and track down bugs, take a look at the Downloader Beta.

🏎️ Staff Picks
Here are some new paints that caught the eye of our team this week.

🏆 Paint of the Week
Community Manager Patrick has selected this lovely LMP2 from Nicholas Wetherbee as this week’s Paint of the Week.
As we pointed out in last week’s wrap-up, Nicholas also has a paint racing this year’s Indianapolis 500, to be piloted by Jack Harvey. It’s all coming up Nicholas!

📣 Special Shoutout
We’d like to congratulate longtime painter Matthew A Tomelleri (MAT Liveries) on reaching 1,000 followers this week — what a milestone!
Matt’s got some great stuff on his profile, and he painted some terrific Trading Paints cars earlier this year as part of our 15th anniversary celebration.
